OUR SCHOOL Our basic program is a Half-Day program, Monday through Friday. The children usually begin their day enjoying some outside time in our spacious playground. Soon thereafter they enter their classroom where they begin the exploration of the Montessori prepared environment. Here the teachers and assistants guide the children as they work with the many sensorial, math, and language activities.     Healthy snacks are incorporated into the morning, allowing the children to use their practical life skills, such as pouring and serving, and enjoy the self-satisfaction of   independence.                                                                                     The Montessori day also allows time for the children to experience art, music, science, geography and computer. Afternoon programs are available from one to five days a week for all preschool students. These students provide their own lunch, and have the opportunity for continued work with the Montessori materials as well as nap or quiet time and play time. CMS Kindergarten program is a full school day. The program emphasizes  Montessori materials covering reading, sentence structure, and spelling.     Montessori has a strong math curriculum as well, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.   Our kindergarten students also explore and enjoy Science, Geography, Spanish, Art, Music, and Physical Education.                                                                       Thus the students of Covington Montessori School gain, not only, the confidence to master their environment, but also, the skills needed to excel in their educational pursuits!
